MSO IN TRAINING...
The 34th Basic Training Academy
Week 17:
In week 17, the recruits got the chance to experience fire safety when they traveled to Stow, MA to learn all the ins and outs of the Fire Academy. Their Monday fire safety lecture was followed by their trip to Stow on Wednesday. They spent the day putting out fires, doing mock rescues in smoke and performing various search tasks in the pitch dark. Now they are even more prepared for whatever comes their way.
On Tuesday’s Bunker Hill holiday, all recruits spent their time at either the Cambridge Jail or the Billerica House of Correction doing on the job training. With all the practice they’ve had, their skills have sharpened greatly.
Brian Greeley returned on Thursday to teach communication skills. Mr. Joseph Blair and Sergeant Frank Eldridge from Newton Police Department taught a class on juvenile offenders. Following this, the recruits spent half of Friday talking a first look at patrol procedures.
